Seek God & Study His Word

Seek God in the heart of Brisbane City. We put knowing God first. Your heart ignited through intimacy with Jesus is the best way to study God's Word.

Holy Fire Ministry Training School is an evening Bible School designed for working and busy people who want to grow in knowing God and His Word. The Father called us to begin in 2003 with the conviction that his Word and Spirit work together to authentically equip us for ministry. Since our inception, Jesus has led us on an amazing journey through the Bible and his living presence has been changing our lives. Our students are now leaders and pastors throughout Brisbane and beyond. And God's work continues to grow and increase.  This is no ordinary Bible School. We don't just study Scripture, but experience and live it out.

Spies, Warriors, Prophets & Kings:

Joshua - 2 Kings

Israel’s history is filled with spies, warriors, prophets, and kings. Adventure, action, warfare, and drama meet us on every page of Joshua through 2 Kings. Joshua begins with two spies conducting reconnaissance in Jericho. Then, we see God’s people rising as warriors to take hold of God’s promises. The spotlight suddenly shifts to prophets, priests and kings in 1 Samuel to 2 Kings.

What does all this mean for us? How can we glean from Israel’s development as a nation? In ‘Spies, Warriors, Prophets & Kings,’ you’ll learn from the successes and failures of those who have gone before us and how many of these Biblical men and women point to the ultimate undercover agent, soldier, minister and leader – our Messiah Jesus.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith” (Hebrews 12:1–2, NIV).

Kingdom Special Forces:

Becoming God’s Warriors

God is raising a special force of warriors for his Kingdom and is sending out a rallying call for you to join them. How can you become one of God’s Kingdom warriors?

Let’s make it clear that we are not talking about physical violence but overcoming obstacles and engaging in spiritual warfare. Through our studying of Joshua through 2 Kings – with special emphasis on David – we will learn what it means to be a warrior and how we practice spiritual warfare in our everyday lives.

Glen Gerhauser will especially draw from his experience with his father, who served as a Green Beret in the Fifth Special Forces Group, one of the most highly decorated and praised special force units.

After their deliverance from Egypt, Moses and Israel sang, “The LORD is a warrior; The LORD is His name” (Exodus 15:3, NASB).

THE ART OF THE SWORD:

Exegeting & Executing God’s Word

Knowing God’s Word – our sword – and using it properly is the key to becoming a mighty warrior. In ‘The Art of the Sword,’ we will learn how to study, interpret and apply Scripture. You’ll discover tried and tested principles to handle God’s Word with finesse and help you teach it to others.

Along the way, we will learn some Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek—the original languages of Scripture—and uncover their ancient wisdom. We will especially examine how Jesus approached Scripture. He is our greatest model.

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15, ESV).
