HFMTS is a warm and compassionate community of students devoted to seeking God, studying Scripture and being equipped for ministry together.

Holy Fire Ministry Training School is an evening Bible School designed for working and busy people who want to grow in knowing God and His Word. The Father called us to begin in 2003 with the conviction that his Word and Spirit work together to authentically equip us for ministry. Since our inception, Jesus has led us on an amazing journey through the Bible and his living presence has been changing our lives. Our students are now leaders and pastors throughout Brisbane and beyond. And God's work continues to grow and increase.  This is no ordinary Bible School. We don't just study Scripture, but experience and live it out.

Encountering Jesus in Matthew to John

Follow Me focuses on the first four books of the New Testament and continues our exploration through the Bible.

In Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, we encounter Jesus, the living Word of God, walking among his creation. We hear Jesus’ thoughts, see his ways and come face-to-face with the Father’s heart for us. Through Jesus, we will learn God’s Word and see Scripture through his eyes.

Our study will help you enjoy sweet fellowship with him and understand Jesus’ mission. You will hear Jesus’ call –  “Follow me” – and be moved to carry out the commission he entrusted to you. Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” (Matt. 4:19, NLT).

Spreading the Word’s Fire:

The Book of Acts

The book of Acts – the continuation of Luke’s Gospel – is all about living out the Word. After Jesus ascends to heaven, he calls his disciples to wait on him so they will be empowered to embody and spread the fire of the Word. 

The apostles and the called-out ones are tested and tried as they seek to carry out Jesus’ great commission. How do they overcome? By knowing the Scripture and the power of God.

Our study of Acts will enable you to follow in their footsteps and minister by the Holy Spirit’s fire. Jesus said, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8, NIV).

Delighting in God’s Word:

Hebrew Treasures of Psalm 119

Psalm 119 is outstanding among the Psalms, sparkling like a priceless jewel. It’s the longest psalm, and it's devoted to the theme of loving and praising God’s Word. Each section of eight verses revolves around a different Hebrew letter, starting with Aleph and concluding with Tav.

As we journey through Psalm 119, we will discover the hidden treasures of the Hebrew alphabet and thought. We will connect our discoveries with Jesus, the ultimate Word of God.

Our journey will instill in you a love for God’s Word and the foundations of the Hebrew language. John says, “In the beginning was the Word…And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:1a, 14, NASB).
